Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a Masaru Kohno No 6 Concert Classical with a Solid Spruce top, Solid Rosewood back and sides, and an Ebony fretboard.  Masaru Kohno is one of the most prominent and influential figures in Japanese luthiery.  He began his training in Madrid in 1959 at the workshop of revered Flamenco and classical luthier Arcangel Fernandez. After returning to Japan to refine his craft, Kohno entered and received first prize at the Liege Concours National de Guitares a few short years later in 1967.  This guitar is only 2 years removed from that prize.  Someone had radiused the fretboard and put some jumbo frets on it, so we replaced the fretboard and refretted it back to factory spec.  We also performed a neck reset, glued up some loose braces and cleated some top cracks.  It's as solid as a rock and one of the best sounding classicals we have in stock.  Comes safely packed in the oversized Yamaha case in the photos.

The nut measures 52mm, neck depth is 22mm-26mm at the 1st and 10th frets respectively.  It's a classical D profile that classical player love.  Freshly strung and accurately intonated with D'Addario Pro Arte medium tension strings.  650mm, flat radius, 3.69 lbs.  The neck is straight and the relief offers optimum playability.  There are a few scratches and dings as pictured.  It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots.
