Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a rare Mosrite "The Ventures" MK1 1965 Reissue with a deep gloss black from and a sunburst back. We have never seen one of these and cannot find another example. The sunburst is also on the back of the neck and the sides of the headstock. It's just incredible. It was made by Kurogumo for Fillmore and sold excusively in the Japanese domestic market. This one is the one with the "Mosrite of California" low ohm pickups that everyone loves. The neck reads 5.66k ohms and the bridge dials in at 5.62k ohms. They deliver plenty of Mosrite chime and warmth. Combine them together and you'll get a full bodied tone that has a cool chewy warmth. Comes safely packed in the original Mosrite gig bag in the photos.
The nut measures 1.63", neck depth is .88"-.88" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's the consistent Mosrite C profile that these guitars are known for. 24.5" scale, 12" radius, 8.63 lbs. Freshly strung and with D'Adarrio 10-46 nickel strings and low action at 1.65mm-1.35mm. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots.
