Northwest Vintge Guitars is proud to present Jimmy Lyon's former 1967 Bassman modded by Prune Music.  Jimmy Lyon's had a storied career as Eddie Money's guitarist and famously played the iconic solo on Two Tickets to Paradise.   He also had many hits with the Greg Kihn Band.  We asked if this head was used in any of the tracks we know, but it was only used By Jimmy for practice in the pre professional years and once in the studio early on.

The chassis has a Prune Music sticker that bears witness to extensive modding that was performed in the 70's at the iconic music store in Mill Valley, CA.  Two Preamp tubes were added, an aftermarket replacement output transformer, and numerous pots including two master volumes.  The Normal channel circuit resembled a Marshall Master with even more gain and an unruly amount of noise.  We took it to our trusty amp tech for his magic and he didn't disappoint.  One of the added tubes was removed and the circuit reworked to more accurately resemble a vintage Marshall on the Normal channel while voicing the Bass channel to a Fender Brownface bordering on Blackface. A presence and a mid control were added for even more tone shaping options.  The Marshall channel has just the perfect amount of gain to be useful.  Easy to dial in a myriad of tones from Blackface to Marshall - Brownface to Bluesbreaker. It's versatile, dynamic, responsive and oh so sweet sounding.  The Bass channel is high headroom clean Fender glory that is also controlled at the master volume but maintains good head room.   It's a great combo in a two channel - Fender with a Marshall Master.   The video has Drew playing through the Bass Channel first, then the Normal (Marshall) Channel.

There a matched pair of Ruby Tubes in the power section.
