Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a 1997 Yamaha Custom Shop LL31B from 1997. These dreadnought offerings feature a solid Spruce top, Solid New Jacaranda Back and Sides(sometimes referred to as "Honduran or Bolivian Rosewood"), an Ebony bridge, and a lovely snowflake inlaid Ebony fretboard. There is very little playwear and she sounds amazing. These Yamaha Custom shop beauties are made in limited numbers from carefully selected and sourced tonewoods. Only the most skilled and experienced luthiers worked in the Custom Shop.
The nut measures 1.71", neck depth is .83"-.93" at the 1st and 10th frets respectively. The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There's a lot of saddle height and ample breakover angle. The bridge plate is in great shape, and the frets exhibit very little wear on a fresh polish. Action is at a Bluegrass appropriate 3mm on the low E, 2.4mm on the high E. Plenty of saddle height to bring it down if desired. Comes safely packed in the Hardshell case in the photos and included the docs and tags.
There are a few dents, dings, scratches and a Capo bite as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition and has a great even tonality and deep, articulate lows that sit perfect with the warm clear highs and present mids. It's a resonant and balanced instrument.
