Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a 1982 Yamaha SG3000 Custom in all gold and featuring the most ornate Mexican Adalone inlay ornamentation available. 1982 was the inagural year for this top tier Yamaha offering and it's incredible. This Les Paul Killer represents the absolute peak of Yamaha craftsmanship and no expense was spared. It offers incredible sustain and features a solid Mahogany body, a solid Maple cap, and a Mahogany/Maple/Mahogany neck. The ebony fretboard is dark and luxurious and the gold hardware exhibits very little wear. Our Master Luthier gave it a full re-fret, a new nut, and replaced the push/push tone pots with new ones. 24.75" scale, 20" radius, 9.36 lbs. It's one of the lightest examples you will find. It plays flawlessly with no issues on the new frets. Comes safely packed and fully insured in the Calzone flight case in the photos.
The nut measures 1.72", neck depth is .84"-1.01" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a very comfy medium C profile that's not too slim. Freshly strung and accurately intonated with D'Addario XL 10-46 nickel strings and spot on intonation. The neck is straight and stable, the truss rod is tight but turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are very few scratches and dings as pictured. One area of binding in the waist that is separated. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots.
