Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a clean 1978 Yamaha Super Bass model SB500S with a solid Mahogany body, Maple neck, and a pair of killer Yamaha proprietary single coils.   Yamaha made some of the best basses in the late 70's and 80's and this one stands out as a great P Bass or J Bass replacement.  The 8 pole pickups read in the 7.1k ohm range and delver a wide range of tones with an immediateness that is sometimes lacking in other brands.  33.8" scale, 12" radius.  Comes safely packed and fully insured in the padded gig bag in the photos.

The nut measures 1.68", neck depth is .87"-.98" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively.  It's a solid medium C profile that most folks love.  Freshly strung and accurately intonated with American made 45-105 nickel roundwounds and factory spec action at 2.0mm-1.75mm.    The neck is straight, the truss rod is tight but turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.  There are a few scratches and dings as pictured.  It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots.
