Northwest Vintage Guitars is stoked to bring you a 1978 Blue Bell D28 Style Dreadnought.  It's the W1000 model thats all solid woods.  These are amazing sounding hand hade X Braced dreadnoughts with top quality materials and expert craftsmanship throughout.  Incredibly lightly constructed with a bold, wide-grained solid German Spruce top from the Bavarian Alps, solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany one piece neck, Ebony Bridge, Herringbone pufling, and Snowflake adorned Ebony fretboard.  It's basically an X-braced D28, and it's a cannon.

These were sold under the TAMA brand in the 70's on the Japanese Domestic market where real Martin D28's were prohibitively expensive.  These are highly revered on today's Japanese used market and still fetch a pretty price.  It's rare to see one here in the states.  Some of these were ply back and sides, but we can assure you this one is all solid. This one features a 1.75" nut, neck depth is .86"-1.05" on a very comfy and full soft V profile.  The neck is straight, the frets are in great shape, and the relief is a perfect .008" at the 7th fret with 12-56 Portland Phosphor Bronze strings tuned to pitch.  Like a vintage Martin, this has no truss rod.  The saddle is shaved, the bridge is notched and breakover angle is very good on the original bone saddle.  Action is a very nicely playable 2.5 mm on the low E, 1.3 mm on the high E at the 12th fret.  There's an old top crack repair on the lower bout and she has a few bumps and bruises as pictured, but she looks like the well loved cannon that someone couldn't put down.   Brass bridge pins are not original, but very cool.  Comes safely packed in the Yairi case in the photos.
