Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a clean 1976 Tokai Cat's Eyes CE500 model with perfect action and a bold tone. The Cat's Eyes models were built under license from Martin. Tokai was building the Sigma models for the American Market and the Cat's Eyes models for the domestic Japan market. Martin got a cut of every model sold. Nice arrangement, nice guitars. Solid Spruce top, laminate Rosewood Back and sides, and a solid Mahogany neck and a Rosewood fretboard.
The nut measures 1.77" nut, neck depth is .88"-.99" at the 1st and 10th frets respectively. It's a nice C profile. 25.5" scale, 12" radius, 4.48 lbs. Freshly strung with D'Adarrio 12-53 Bronze strings and factory spec action at 5/64" and 4/64". The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. There are a few scratches and dings as pictured. It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots or unwarranted buzzing. Comes safely packed and fully insured in the hard case in the photos.
