Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a rare 1980 Fernandes neck through FPM80 Bomber bass in the rarer Sienna Burst variant. These gems were inspired by the Alembic and BC Rich neck through craze of the 70's and features an Ash body with a Maple and Mahogany multi piece neck through design to enhance sustain. And of course it wouldn't be complete without a high mass brass bridge and a brass nut. 33.75" scale, 9.5" radius, 8.82 lbs. The double split single coil PBass pickups are up to the task with a room filling low end and punchy midrange just like we like it. Comes safely packed and fully insured in the padded gig bag in the photos.
The nut measures 1.59", neck depth is .83"-.93" at the 1st and 12th frets respectively. It's a typical C profile that most folks will recognize. Freshly strung and accurately intonated with American made 45-105 nickel round wound strings and factory spec action at 5/64"-4/64". There is some buzzing above the 12th fret but it will play cleanly at 6/64"-5/64" action. The neck has a slight ramp at the heel, the truss rod is near maxed but turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability. The frets are crowned and polished with only scant wear in the 1st position - the high registers have been leveled lower. The fretboard is clean and conditioned. There are a few scratches and dings as pictured. There are no dead spots.
